How to make colored smoke bombs. (VERY IMPRESSIVE)

colored Smoke can be used for many things in the world of juggling and spinning, you could end you performance by disappearing into blue smoke, or swing small smoke tablets round in circles creating patterns.

Here is how to make colored smoke be warned they pack a punch

you will need

Potassium Nitrate 60g (EBay)
Sugar 40g
Baking Soda
Strong large tape. Duct tape is good
Organic powdered dye (found in your local hobby shop) orange, blue, green, black and red works best
cooker
A well ventilated area
A saucepan. ( don't for food use after making this)
Cardboard tube. Toilet roll works well or sweets tube

Step 1
Mix the Potassium Nitrate and the sugar in a saucepan and put on a low heat, stir continuously.

Step 2
As the sugar starts to caramelise the mixture should start to get sticky and form a peanut butter like texture. continue to stir

Step 3
Add 1 Tablespoon of baking soda and stir it all together, The soda will help to slow combustion

Step 4
Add 4 Tablespoons of your powdered dye and yet again stir well. keep mixing until you have a smooth gooey mixture. remove from heat

Step 5
Cut your cardboard tube into pieces about 3 inches tall and place on some newspaper.

Step 6
Fill your tubes just below the top with you mix. leave to set

Step 7
Just before The mix sets (about 35 mins) poke a few match heads in the top, keep them together and touching

Step 8
Wrap the sides and bottom in tape

YOU ARE DONE

Light at arms length with a extra long match. oh and light it outdoors. these really produce a mass of smoke, do not underestimate them

Yeah, you can layer them quite nicely
